Note: if you would like to apply for this business version of the card and don’t have a business? Not to worry, as long as you have any small hobby or small business such as paper route or ebay, you can apply. It is well known that you don’t even need a business to apply. When asked for business name or address? Just enter your own. When asked for Legal structure, enter “sole proprietorship”. When asked for Tax id, just enter your social security number.

Remember that Citi limits the amount of credit card you sing up per day and that you should wait 8 days in between applications and that you should not submit more than 2 applications with 65 days period. This is more like the unwritten rule of 8/65. For example, Day 1, apply for the personal Citi/ AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite MasterCard. On day 9, apply for the CitiBusiness / AAdvantage Platinum Select. However, since Citi doesn’t care about other bank, while waiting between 2 Citi cards, you can apply for one of the Barclaycard.

Tip: Citi is currently has other offers for up to 75,000 bonus miles so after you got approved and received the above card, you can request for a match to up to 75,000 bonus miles from your offer of 60,000 via secured message.

So if you got your bonus mile matched for Citi Cards and approved for the Barclay Cards here are the math:

  • Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite MasterCard : 75,000 miles

  • Barclaycard AAdvantage Aviator Red World Elite MasterCard : 60,000 miles

Using American Airline miles is best for travel to Asia in my opinion. I was able to book one way business class on Japan Airline from BOS-NRT for 50,000 miles or use 70,000 miles for one way business class on Cathay Pacific airways from BOS-SGN. So you can see, with just the first 2 credit cards sign-up bonus, you would have more than enough to fly a round trip Business class on Japan Airline. This is a great offer for AAdvantage Airline miles and it might not last long.
